About this event

The Great Ocean Road Running Festival returns to Victoria’s iconic south-west coast on 16–17 May 2026, offering a two-day celebration of running against stunning seaside backdrops.

This event features ten race distances designed to accommodate runners of all ages and abilities, with panoramic views of the Southern Ocean along the route.

On Saturday, participants can choose from the 14km Paradise Run, 6km Run, or the 1.5km Kids Gallop, all starting from Apollo Bay.

Sunday’s events begin at the Lorne SLSC Car Park on Mountjoy Parade and include the challenging 60km Ultra Marathon, 44km Marathon, 5km and 10km Great Ocean Road Walks, and a 12km trail run. Additionally, the 23km Half Marathon starts separately at Kennett River Holiday Park.

Whether you are an elite athlete or a recreational runner, the Great Ocean Road Running Festival offers a unique opportunity to experience one of Australia’s most visually spectacular running events.
