Sandy Running Festival
Event location
Description
The Sandy Running Festival, taking place on Saturday, 21 March 2026, is a community-focused event in South Australia featuring 21km, 10km, and 5km runs and walks along scenic beach routes.
The 21km run begins at Glenelg North and follows the metropolitan coastline northwards, culminating at the Osborne Foreshore Reserve on Lady Gowrie Drive.
The 10km and 5km run/walks start on continuous sandy courses: the 10km from the beach at Moredun Street, Tennyson, and the 5km from Semaphore Jetty. Both routes feature mostly hard-packed sand and are dog-friendly, offering a unique trail experience.
This event not only provides a memorable coastal running challenge but also supports a vital cause, raising funds for the Bright Futures Child Aid and Development Fund, which assists community projects benefiting women and children in developing countries.
