Clubs & Social Groups — Listing and Managing Your Group
How do I list my club or social group on KeepActive?
Go to keepactive.com.au/group/new-listing to create your listing. You'll be asked to create an account (or log in), then fill in your group's name, sport/activity type, suburb, description, and contact details. Once submitted, your listing is reviewed and typically goes live within two to three business days. You can edit your listing at any time from your account dashboard.
Is it free to list my club or social group?
Yes — the Starter plan is free with no time limit. It includes a directory listing, unlimited phone and email enquiries, a website link, and one cover photo. A paid Essential plan ($220/year, ~$4.20/week) is also available for all listing types and gives you priority placement in search results, an extra photo, and no competitor ads on your page. Non-profits get 50% off paid plans — contact us to apply. See the pricing page for full details.
What types of groups can list on KeepActive?
Any community-oriented sports or fitness group is welcome — running clubs, social tennis, walking groups, volleyball socials, cycling groups, yoga communities, dance classes, martial arts clubs, and more. The listing must be for a real, ongoing group (not a one-off event — use the Events section for those). Groups that are purely commercial (e.g. a PT charging per-session) should list under Coaches & Trainers instead.
How long does it take for my listing to appear in search results?
Listings are typically reviewed and published within two to three business days. Once live, Google usually indexes a new page within one to two weeks. In the meantime, your listing is immediately accessible via its direct URL, which you can share with your members.
Can I list multiple sessions or locations for the same club?
Yes. Within your listing you can add multiple session times (e.g. Tuesday evening and Saturday morning) and note different locations if your group meets in more than one place. If you run genuinely separate groups under different names in different suburbs, create a separate listing for each so they appear in suburb-based searches.
How do I update my listing?
Log in to your KeepActive account and go to your dashboard. Select the listing you want to edit, make your changes, and save. Updates go live immediately (no re-review required for routine edits like changing session times or contact details).
Coaches & Personal Trainers — Listing Your Services
How do I list myself as a coach or trainer on KeepActive?
Go to keepactive.com.au/group/new-listing to create your listing. Create an account or log in, select "Training/Coaching Service" as the listing type, then fill in your title, sport or activity, suburb, description, a photo, and your preferred contact method (web form, email, or phone). Once submitted, your listing is reviewed and typically goes live within two to three business days.
Is there a cost to list as a coach or trainer?
A basic coach listing is free. Paid plans are available that give you higher placement in search results, more profile fields (photos, video, full bio, pricing), and direct enquiry features. See the pricing page for current plan options.
Can clients contact me directly through KeepActive?
Yes. Your listing includes a contact button that lets potential clients send you a message or enquiry. You can also add a link to your external booking page (e.g. a booking app or your own website) so clients can book directly without going through KeepActive.
How do I appear in search results for my sport or suburb?
Make sure your listing includes the correct suburb and postcodes you service, and clearly name the sport or activity type in your profile. Paid listings receive higher placement than free listings for the same sport and suburb. Keeping your profile complete (photo, full bio, client reviews) also improves visibility.
Can I list multiple services — for example, PT sessions and group classes?
Yes. Your coach profile can describe all the services you offer. Use the description field to list each service type clearly. If you operate under different business names or in very different disciplines, consider separate listings so each can be found by its own keywords.
Venues — Listing Your Sports Facility
How do I list my venue on KeepActive?
Go to keepactive.com.au/venue/new to create your listing. Create an account or log in, then then fill in your venue's name, address, facility types, opening hours, and contact details. Add photos to increase engagement. Your listing will be reviewed and published within two to three business days.
Is it free to list my venue?
Yes. Basic venue listings are free. Enhanced options (additional photos, top placement, featured callouts) may be available under paid plans — check the pricing page for current options.
What types of venues can be listed?
Gyms, aquatic centres, tennis and squash clubs, indoor sports centres, outdoor courts (council or private), golf courses, yoga studios, martial arts schools, community halls used for sport, skate parks, climbing gyms — any dedicated facility where people go to get active.
How do people contact my venue through KeepActive?
Your listing includes a contact button that lets users send you an enquiry directly. You can also add your phone number, email address, and website URL so users can reach you through their preferred channel. Make sure your contact details are kept up to date in your dashboard.
Can I show which clubs and events are held at my venue?
KeepActive can surface nearby clubs and events based on shared suburb and location data. If you want specific clubs or events linked to your venue, contact us via the contact page and we can manually associate them with your listing.
How do I update my venue's opening hours or contact details?
Log in to your account and select your venue listing from the dashboard. Edit any field and save — changes go live immediately for routine updates.
Event Organisers — Listing and Managing Events
How do I list my event on KeepActive?
Go to keepactive.com.au/e/new to create your event listing. Create an account or log in, then then fill in your event name, date, location, distance or activity type, registration link, and a description. Most events go live within two to three business days.
Is it free to list my event?
Yes, basic event listings are free. There are no commissions on registrations — KeepActive links out to your own registration page (e.g. EntryCentral, Active Network, your own site). Enhanced listings with top placement and featured callouts may be available under paid plans — see pricing.
Can I list a virtual or online event?
Yes. Virtual events — step challenges, virtual fun runs, online fitness challenges — can be listed. Set the location as "Virtual / Online" and describe how participants take part and track their progress. Virtual events appear in a dedicated virtual events section as well as in suburb-agnostic searches.
How do participants register — through KeepActive or my own registration page?
KeepActive is a discovery platform, not a registration system. Your listing includes a Register button that links directly to your own registration page (EntryCentral, Active Network, Humanitix, your website, etc.). You manage all registrations, payments, and participant communications through your own system.
How do I contact an event organiser?
Each event listing includes a Contact organiser button or a link to the organiser's website. If neither is visible, look for the event's official registration page — the organiser's contact details are usually listed there. KeepActive does not manage registrations or participant queries on behalf of event organisers.
Can I update event details after publishing?
Yes. Log in and edit your event listing from your dashboard at any time. Changes to date, price, registration link, or description go live immediately. If your event is cancelled or postponed, please update the listing promptly so participants are not misled.
Finding Activities, Events, and Groups Near You
How do I search for activities or events near me?
Use the search bar at the top of the page and enter your suburb, postcode, or city. You can browse activities and groups, events, or venues — filtering by activity type, day of the week, or location.
Is KeepActive free to use?
Yes, completely free for people looking for activities and events. You can browse, search, and contact organisers without creating an account. Registering gives you the ability to save favourites and receive personalised recommendations.
Do I need to create an account to use KeepActive?
No. You can search and browse all listings without an account. You only need to register if you want to save favourite activities, follow groups, or list your own club, coaching service, venue, or event.
Why should I register — what do I get from creating an account?
A free account lets you save activities and events to a personal shortlist, get notified about new groups or events in your area, and list your own group or event if you organise one. Registration takes less than a minute.
I didn't receive my verification email — what should I do?
First, check your spam or junk folder — verification emails sometimes land there. If it's not there, wait two to three minutes and check again. If you still haven't received it, go to the login page and click Resend verification email. Make sure the email address you entered is correct. If the problem persists, contact us and we'll verify your account manually.
How do I contact a club, activity, or venue organiser?
Open the listing page for the club, activity, or venue and look for the Contact button or the organiser's email address. Some listings also include a phone number or website link. If no contact details are visible, try the group's social media page — many community groups list a Facebook page or Instagram handle in their description.
How do I contact an event organiser as an attendee?
Open the event listing and click Contact organiser or visit the event's registration page link — organisers almost always include a contact email on their registration site. KeepActive does not process registrations or relay messages to event organisers, so contacting them directly through their registration platform is the fastest option.
How is KeepActive different from Facebook Groups or Meetup?
KeepActive is focused specifically on sport and physical activity in Australia, which means the search and filtering tools are built for finding active groups by sport, location, and schedule — not general social groups. Listings are verified and maintained by the organisers, so the information tends to be more current than unmoderated Facebook groups. KeepActive is also discoverable via Google search, meaning you can find groups without needing a Facebook account.
