When Active Locals is useful
Active Locals documents joining groups, booking events, payments and organiser tools in its help centre. If an activity you want uses that booking process, follow the organiser’s instructions there. It also provides discovery; KeepActive is an additional place to explore rather than the only way to find an activity.

Group membership and session bookings are not the same
Active Locals says attendees can join an event directly without manually joining a group first. For a recurring activity, book the particular session you want rather than assuming group membership reserves a place each week.
For organisers, an ongoing group and a standalone event need different introductions. Link a KeepActive ongoing-activity listing to a public destination that explains the group and upcoming sessions. Use a dated event listing when promoting a single open event.
Keep the actual booking in Active Locals, including its current availability and cancellation process. Explain on KeepActive whether a newcomer should book immediately or contact you first.

When KeepActive adds another starting point
You may be looking for a regular club, coaching or a social activity before choosing a particular event. Explore local options on KeepActive and compare their practical fit. For children, check the stated age range with the provider rather than assuming every social activity is family-friendly.
A person who starts by searching for running might become interested in another outdoor group because its location and welcome suit them. Check the current sessions and who they welcome.
Before booking or turning up
Confirm the date, venue, fitness or experience expectations, equipment, total participation cost and cancellation arrangements with the organiser. Check whether you need an event booking as well as group membership.
Use the activity’s current public joining destination. A discovery listing does not itself confirm attendance or provide a ticket.
For organisers using Active Locals
Keep your existing group and booking arrangements. Describe an ongoing activity on KeepActive as an ongoing listing; use the event listing process for a specific dated event. Avoid presenting a single sold-out session as a year-round open invitation.
Explain who can attend and where the next step happens. Review both pages after changes or cancellations. No automatic connection between accounts or booking systems is implied.
