2025 Gold Coast Kokoda Challenge
Event location
Description
Organiser: Kokoda Youth Foundation
Tackle the Kokoda Challenge on Saturday July 19, and test your physical and mental resilience by walking through the Gold Coast Hinterland over a distance of 30km, 48km, or 96km. The Kokoda Challenge is Australia’s toughest team endurance event and is not for the faint-hearted.
With over 4,000 meters of elevation and 39 hours of trekking through the day and night, regardless of weather conditions, you will experience a test of strength and determination. The course includes sharp inclines, gruelling descents, mud, and creeks, and pays tribute to the sacrifices of the Diggers who fought in the 1942 Kokoda Campaign.
This is more than a personal challenge – it’s an opportunity to give back to your community. The funds raised support Kokoda Youth Foundation programs to help kids in the local community. The Kokoda Youth Programs are empowering local kids facing disadvantages and disengagement to realise their full potential by instilling the values of the Kokoda Spirit; Courage, Endurance, Mateship, Sacrifice.
Past participants have called this event “physically and emotionally exhausting, and yet the most extraordinary and rewarding thing we’ve completed.” Every step is a testament to your inner strength, prove to yourself what you’re truly made of and join in on this epic adventure!
