About this event
About A Walk in the Park
Join Parkinson’s WA for A Walk in the Park 2026, the organisation’s annual community outreach fundraiser at Perry Lakes Reserve. Now in its 16th year, this welcoming event brings together people living with Parkinson’s, their families, friends, carers and supporters for a morning of connection and gentle activity.
Funds raised through registrations and participant fundraising support Parkinson’s WA’s Specialist Nursing Service, helping the organisation provide care and assistance to the estimated 15,000–25,000 people living with Parkinson’s in Western Australia.
Event day
The event takes place on Sunday 13 September 2026. Gates open at 9:00am, with the listed event program running from 9:30am to 2:00pm. Arrive early to check in, find a comfortable spot and enjoy the garden games and activities. Participants receive a wristband confirming their participation.
The walk is family-friendly, and dogs may attend on a leash with the appropriate registration. People walking in memory or support of someone can wear a personalised “Who are you walking for?” bib. Printed bibs will be available on the day for anyone who has not downloaded the fillable version.
Location and parking
A Walk in the Park is held at Perry Lakes Reserve, off Underwood Avenue in Floreat. Follow event signs to the main car park off Perry Lakes Drive. The smaller car park off Perry Lakes Drive is reserved for dropping off people with disability or anyone who has difficulty walking. Cars must be collected before 1:00pm because this car park will be locked at that time.
Registration
Online registrations close at 5:00pm on Friday 11 September 2026. Anyone who misses the online deadline can register in person at the event from 9:00am. Entry options listed by the organiser include adult, child, family and dog registrations. Merchandise purchased during registration can be collected at the event.
Can’t attend at Perry Lakes? Parkinson’s WA also offers a virtual A Walk in the Park, allowing supporters to walk at a convenient location and time while fundraising and participating in spirit.
