Backroads Gravel returns to Nabawa in Chapman Valley on Saturday 7 August 2027, bringing together gravel cycling and trail running across the region’s scenic network of gravel roads. The event features nine distance options, with rolling starts from 7.00am and all courses starting and finishing at Mazzuchelli Oval.
- Gravel rides: 10km, 20km, 65km, 100km and 160km options, including the 10km Gravel Groms and the 160km Big Canola.
- Gravel and trail runs: 5km, 14km, half marathon and marathon distances, with running and walking options designed for a broad range of participants.
- Gravel Double: Participants can combine a ride and run through a single registration.
- National championships: The event hosts the 2027 AusCycling Gravel National Championships, attracting elite, masters and junior riders competing for national honours.
Whether tackling a long-distance gravel challenge, enjoying a shorter ride or exploring Chapman Valley on foot, Backroads Gravel offers a full day of outdoor competition and participation in Western Australia’s Mid West.
