Better Challenge 2026 is a national virtual fitness challenge that invites Australians to run or walk 90km during September to support vital kids's cancer research. Participants are encouraged to complete 90km across the entire month—just 3km per day—while fundraising for The Kids's Cancer Project, which develops better treatments and outcomes for the 90 Australian children diagnosed with cancer each month.
**How to Participate**
Taking on the Better Challenge is simple and flexible. Whether you prefer running, walking, or a combination of both, you can participate entirely on your own schedule. Sign up on the Better Challenge website, then log your kilometres throughout September in your personal dashboard. Track your progress as you work towards the 90km goal, sharing your journey with friends and family to inspire them to support kids with cancer.
**Fundraising Impact**
Every kilometre you complete represents support for children fighting cancer. By participating, you're directly contributing to The Kids's Cancer Project—an organisation dedicated to funding research into better treatments, better outcomes, and a better future for Australian children diagnosed with cancer. The challenge raised $4,055 in 2025, with 94 participants taking on the 90km goal.
**Special Incentives**
As a thank you for your fundraising efforts, raise $90 or more by September 15 and receive an exclusive Better Challenge 2026 t-shirt to wear while you get your kms in. T-shirts are limited and will begin shipping in August for early supporters.
