About this event
Biketober is Love to Ride's free, Australia-wide cycling challenge from 1 to 31 October 2026. Ride any bike, anywhere and for any distance: one October ride is enough to enter the prize draw. Every ride you log can add to your points and, if you join a workplace, its leaderboard score.
Ride Your Way
New riders and regular cyclists are welcome. A trip to the shops, a commute or a leisure ride all count. Borrowed, second-hand, electric and cargo bikes are included, with no minimum distance. Join on your own or add your workplace to compete in its size group.
Log Rides and Earn Points
Create a Love to Ride account or log in, then record rides with the Love to Ride app, sync Garmin or Strava, or add them manually. The challenge runs throughout October, and there is a 48-hour grace period to log October rides by 2 November 2026.
Points come from distance and days ridden, encouraging others to ride, and rating routes. During Biketober, the first kilometre of a route you rate earns 50 points, and each rated kilometre after that earns five. Every point provides another prize entry. Love to Ride lists a $4,000 holiday grand prize, plus other rider and workplace prizes; eligibility and prize terms apply.
Help Improve Local Riding
In the app, you can rate sections of your route as comfortable, stressful or enjoyable and add a comment. Love to Ride combines this anonymous feedback to show where riding feels good and where changes may be needed. Taking part is free, and you can sign up at any time during October. Use the website action on this event page to join.
