Birdy's Backyard Ultra is an exhilarating "Last One Standing" endurance event kicking off at 10AM on Friday, August 7, 2026, at the scenic lakeside camping area of Lake Towerrinning, Western Australia.
In this gripping Backyard Ultra format, runners tackle a 6.71km trail loop every hour on the hour, completing each lap within 60 minutes to stay in the race. The event pushes forward relentlessly until just one competitor remains—the ultimate champion.
The course winds through private lakeside property with varied terrain designed for epic long-distance efforts, fostering Australian records and personal triumphs amid an electric atmosphere of supporters and crews.
Named after the legendary mythical figure Big Birdy, an 8'4" giant of the Great South Western Bushlands, this exclusive event caps entries at 200 runners, creating unforgettable memories in a fully dedicated venue.
