About this event
Black Snake Race is an out-and-back trail running event on the dirt Clohesy River Road in Dinden National Park near Kuranda, Queensland. Held on Sunday, 15 November 2026, the event offers 5km, 12km and 21km distances, with creek crossings included on every course.
The 12km and 21km routes continue to the Clohesy River Fig Tree, adding a distinctive rainforest landmark to the longer races. All distances start and finish near the first creek after the junction of Clohesy River Road and Cedar Park Road.
Water is available at the start and finish area, with an additional on-course station near the Clohesy River Fig Tree. A portable toilet is also provided at the start and finish.
Participants should note that the access roads remain open to traffic during the event and parking is limited. Parking is available along Clohesy River Road or Cedar Park Road, approximately 200 metres from the start and finish area.
Black Snake Race is organised by Cairns Road Runners and takes place on public park roads and river crossings within Dinden National Park.
