About this event
The Flying Brick Bellarine Sunset Run is an annual summer running event on the Bellarine Peninsula, bringing together runners, walkers, families and friends for a scenic coastal challenge. Held on the second Saturday in February, it offers a relaxed community atmosphere with course options that suit a range of abilities.
Centred around Portarlington and the Bellarine Coastal Trail, the event features a half marathon, a 10-kilometre run, and a 4-kilometre fun run and walk. The longer courses take participants along coastal paths between Portarlington and St Leonards, with finish lines at Portarlington Pier and a sunset-style setting that adds to the appeal of the day.
The event is known for its coastal views, supportive local feel and emphasis on participation as much as performance. Walkers are welcome on selected distances, and finishers receive medals. The event also includes a community-minded focus on young people’s mental health, with the 4-kilometre option linked to awareness of the positive connection between exercise, confidence and wellbeing.
A backup date is available for the following morning if needed, making the event a well-supported addition to the Bellarine summer calendar.
