About this event
Now in its 26th year, the Freycinet Challenge is a two-day multisport event set on Tasmania’s Freycinet Peninsula at Coles Bay. It combines trail running, sea kayaking, road cycling and mountain biking across eight stages, with entries available for solo competitors and teams of two to four.
The full challenge runs over Saturday and Sunday, while a shorter one-day option is also available on the Sunday. Competitors can expect a demanding course that tests endurance, strategy and all-round multisport skills in one of Australia’s most scenic coastal settings.
Stage distances for the 2026 event include:
- Day 1: 17 km trail run, 10 km sea kayak, 40 km road bike and 18 km mountain bike
- Day 2: 10 km sea kayak, 40 km road bike, 21 km mountain bike and 10 km trail run
Separate categories are offered for individuals and teams, with team entries divided into two-person and four-person categories. Three-person teams compete in the four-person category.
