About this event
The Great Kanku-Breakaways Bolt on 7 June 2026 takes place in the stunning Kanku–Breakaways Conservation Park, 30 km north of Coober Pedy, in the heart of outback South Australia.
Runners can tackle 42.2 km, 21.1 km, 10 km, or 5 km as an individual challenge, or join a team in the 10 km event. A 2.5 km fun run is also available for children under 12.
The marathon is a running-only event, completed over two laps of the out-and-back half marathon course, while all other running distances may be run or walked.
The event also features bike ride options of 10 km, 21.1 km, 36 km, and 72 km, offering something for everyone in this unique desert setting.
