IRONKIDS Cairns returns on Saturday, 13 June 2026 as part of the IRONMAN Cairns festival. This exciting triathlon event offers children aged 7 to 13 years the opportunity to become IRONKIDS Champions by completing a fun and safe swim, bike, and run course.
Participants will swim in the Esplanade Lagoon, cycle along the Esplanade main road, and run up The Boulevard, finishing beneath the official IRONMAN Finishers' Arch at the Lagoon Car Park. Distances vary by age group to ensure an enjoyable and achievable experience:
- 7-9 years: 50m swim, 1km bike, 500m run
- 10-13 years: 100m swim, 3km bike, 1km run
This event focuses on participation and having fun, encouraging kids to give it their best effort in a supportive environment. All entrants receive a participant medal and an event t-shirt, making it a memorable day for the whole family.
