Kunanyi Trail Series: Potato Hopper, Snake Plains & Ferny Trees is the thrilling finale of the Kunanyi Trail Series on Sunday, November 1, 2026, starting at 9:30 AM from Fern Tree Park in Fern Tree, TAS.
Challenge yourself with three distances: Enduro 21km (Potato Hopper), Sport 13km (Snake Plains), or Explorer 4km (Ferny Trees), all showcasing the stunning alpine trails of kunanyi/Mount Wellington.
The Potato Hopper Enduro (21km, ~600m elevation) delivers a technical adventure through towering manferns beside historic waterworks to Silver Falls, up to The Springs, along Milles Track's rocky terrain, past the Disappearing Tarn, across the rugged Potatofields dolerite boulderfield, and down the flowing Wellington Falls Track to Pipeline Track.
The Snake Plains Sport (13km, ~420m elevation) shares the initial section before diverting near the Disappearing Tarn onto the unique Snake Plains Track, blending accessibility with breathtaking views.
The Ferny Trees Explorer (4km) offers an introductory run through lush fern gullies, perfect for newcomers.
