About this event
Marys Mayhem 2026 is a gravel cycling weekend through the rolling gold-country backroads of Mudgee and Rylstone in the NSW Mid-West, running from Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November. Part of the Bushranger Gravel Collection, the event combines timed racing, scenic gravel riding, local food, craft breweries and a relaxed community atmosphere.
The weekend begins on Friday evening with registration at Three Tails Brewery in Mudgee. Saturday is the main riding and racing day, starting and finishing at Small Batch Brewery. Riders can choose from approximately 35, 60 and 100 kilometre courses, with a new 160 kilometre challenge, The Miler, also on the programme. All Saturday courses feature professional timing and results, making the event suitable for riders chasing personal bests, age-group placings or simply a memorable day on the bike.
The courses travel through characteristic Central West landscapes, including flowing dirt roads, gum-lined backroads, gold-tinged paddocks and rugged country surrounding the Mudgee region. The ride is designed to suit a range of participants, from competitive gravel racers to social groups looking to enjoy the scenery and atmosphere at their own pace.
Sunday is a recovery-focused day based in Rylstone, with approximately 35 and 60 kilometre routes. After riding, participants can return to the event village for local food, live music, craft beer and a community celebration supported by local organisations.
Named in honour of Mary Ann Bugg, a Worimi woman associated with Australia’s bushranging history, Marys Mayhem is one of three bushranger-themed gravel events in the collection. Riders who complete all three events can earn an exclusive commemorative belt buckle.
