Max Adventure Race – Sunshine Coast is a team-based adventure race at Wild Horse Mountain, Beerburrum, combining trail running or hiking, mountain biking, kayaking and navigation. Teams of two can choose between Classic and Novice course options, making the event suitable for experienced adventure racers and participants seeking a shorter introduction to the sport.
- Classic course: approximately 15–25 km of mountain biking, 7–12 km of trail running and 2–4 km of kayaking. Most teams complete the course in around four to six hours.
- Novice course: approximately 5–15 km of mountain biking, 3–5 km of trail running and 1–2 km of kayaking. Teams generally finish in around two to four hours.
- Kayaks are provided, and bike hire is available for participants who do not have their own mountain bike.
- Teams compete in male, female and mixed categories.
- Navigation is an integral part of the race, with teams required to follow the course and locate checkpoints across the event area.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, 24 July 2027. Classic-course registration opens from 7.00 am, with the Classic race starting at 8.00 am. Novice registration opens from 8.00 am, followed by a briefing and 9.00 am start.
Presentations and prize giving are scheduled for 1.00 pm, with final finishers expected by approximately 3.00 pm. Online entries and transfers close on 21 July 2027.
