About this event
During the 2026 UN 16 Days of Activism, Safe. Everywhere. Always. invites people across Australia to move in solidarity with women and girls and raise funds to help end violence against them. From 25 November to 10 December, choose a 30 km, 60 km or 100 km target, or set a distance goal of your own. This is a virtual challenge: complete your kilometres where and when it suits you over the 16 days.
Choose how you move
Walking is one way to take part, but you can also run, cycle, swim, rollerblade or use a gym machine. Choose an achievable goal and log your distance as you go. Your personal fundraising page shows your progress, and kilometres can be entered manually or synced from a compatible fitness app. Distance tracking resets to zero on 25 November, the official start of the challenge.
You can join as an individual or take part with friends, a team, workplace, school or fitness club. Moving together can make it easier to keep going and gives your community a shared way to support the campaign.
Register and fundraise
Registration is free. After signing up, set up your fundraising page, share your challenge with supporters and invite them to donate. Funds raised through the challenge go to UN Women Australia, supporting its advocacy in Australia and work globally through the UN Trust Fund to End Violence Against Women and Girls. The Trust Fund supports organisations working on prevention, services and lasting change for women and girls affected by violence.
A fundraising thank you
The first 50 participants who raise $250 receive a limited edition Safe. Everywhere. Always. T-shirt. The offer is limited, so the reward depends on reaching the fundraising amount while places remain.
The 16 Days of Activism run from the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on 25 November to Human Rights Day on 10 December. However you choose to cover your distance, the challenge offers a practical way to show support and raise funds during those 16 days.
