This Wednesday evening She Paddles Level 1 course offers a beginner-friendly way to learn kayaking after work at West Fyans Street Boat Ramp in Newtown, Geelong. It is a women-only introduction to paddling, run by Outside Adventures as part of its progressive She Paddles program.
Evening Course Dates
The Geelong 3 course is listed for Wednesdays from 18 November to 18 December 2026, 6:00pm to 7:30pm. Sessions run for 90 minutes and take place on calm water from the Newtown boat ramp location.
Designed for First-Time Paddlers
Level 1 is the starting point for the She Paddles pathway. It teaches the basics of paddling technique, safe participation and boat control in calm enclosed environments. No previous kayaking experience is required.
What Is Provided
Outside Adventures provides kayaks, paddles, helmets and lifejackets for use during the course. Participants should bring a towel, water, a full change of clothes, any personal medication and clothing they are comfortable getting wet in.
Who Can Join
The She Paddles program is open to women and non-binary participants aged 18 and over. It suits people who want an encouraging small-group environment, whether they are entirely new to kayaking or returning after time away.
Cost and Registration
The full five-session course costs $289. Bookings are made through Outside Adventures. If unsafe weather or water conditions affect a session, the organiser may change the time, location or make-up schedule.
