About this event
Cause
Skip For Heart is a nationwide fundraising challenge that celebrates the joy of skipping while raising awareness and funds for heart health. Created by The Heart Foundation, this event honours the 79 Australians whose lives are cut short by heart disease each day. By participating, you support vital research, education programs, and resources for Australians living with or at risk of heart disease. Whether you are skipping for personal health, in memory of a loved one, or to support the heart health community, every skip makes a difference.
What to Expect
Skip For Heart is a month-long virtual challenge held throughout November. Participants challenge themselves to skip 79 times per day—or more if they choose. The challenge is flexible: you can skip solo at your own pace, join as part of a team with friends and family, or participate with your workplace or community group. Track your daily progress through the official website, share your journey with supporters, and celebrate milestones with your team. The event brings together people of all ages and fitness levels, from beginners trying their first rope to experienced athletes pushing their limits.
How to Participate
- Register: Visit skipforheart.org.au and create a free account as a solo skipper or team captain
- Spread the word: Share your registration link with friends, family, and workmates to get them to sponsor or join your team
- Skip daily: From 1 November, challenge yourself to 79 skips per day (or set your own goal)
- Track progress: Log your skips each day and watch your total grow throughout November
- Raise funds: Encourage supporters to donate to your fundraising page to support heart health initiatives
Cost
Skip For Heart is free to join. There is no entry fee or registration cost. While the challenge itself is free, participants are encouraged to fundraise for The Heart Foundation to support heart disease research, education, and community programs. Donations of any amount are welcome and 100% of funds raised go towards heart health initiatives.
Milestone Rewards
As you progress through November, celebrate your achievements with digital recognition. Participants may earn virtual badges for reaching milestones such as completing one week of the challenge, hitting 500 skips, 1000 skips, or finishing all 30 days. Top fundraisers and most active teams receive special recognition on the Skip For Heart leaderboard. Beyond digital rewards, participants gain the personal satisfaction of supporting a life-saving cause while improving their own fitness and wellbeing.
