The 2027 festival is scheduled from Thursday 13 May to Monday 17 May, with competition events taking place across the weekend. Participants can choose from a range of formats and distances, including:
- Straddie Salute Triathlon: a 750-metre ocean swim, 15-kilometre cycle and 8-kilometre run.
- Straddie Pure Triathlon: a 750-metre ocean swim, 25-kilometre cycle and 8-kilometre run.
- Trail Runs: 5-kilometre and 10-kilometre courses.
- Ocean Swims: 500-metre and 1,000-metre events.
- StraddieKidz events: introductory aquathlon and multisport formats featuring short swim, cycle and run distances.
Set against the island’s coastal scenery, the festival offers challenges for a broad range of ages and abilities, from junior participants and first-time competitors to experienced multisport athletes. The event also promotes inclusive participation, including opportunities for para athletes and people with additional needs.
Straddie Salute is organised by NXSports, with the festival presented as a community-focused event on Minjerribah. Local volunteers and community organisations contribute to the event, helping create a welcoming sporting weekend for participants and spectators.
