About this event
Stride4Stroke is Australias leading national fundraising campaign dedicated to stroke prevention and recovery. Run by the Stroke Foundation, this September movement challenge aims to raise $500,000 to support vital stroke prevention programs, emergency response training, and recovery services across Australia.
Every 11 minutes, someone in Australia has a stroke. That’s nearly 47,000 strokes expected this year alone — claiming more lives than breast cancer in women and prostate cancer in men. Up to 120 babies and 400 children also experience strokes annually. But together, we can change these statistics.
Stride4Stroke invites Australians of all fitness levels to get moving their way during September. Whether you walk, run, cycle, swim, dance, or participate in stroke recovery exercises, every step, spin, and stretch counts toward this lifesaving cause. There’s no entry fee — you simply set your moving minutes goal and fundraise for stroke awareness and prevention.
Participants can stride solo or form a team to share the journey with friends, family, or workmates. The more you move and fundraise, the more impact you make. Hit $132 in donations (representing 12 strokes) and earn an official Stride4Stroke shirt. Every $11 raised represents one stroke expected in Australia and funds prevention programs, support services, and recovery resources through the Stroke Foundation.
Funds raised support StrokeSafe talks, Australia’s Biggest Blood Pressure Check initiative, F.A.S.T. stroke awareness training, StrokeLine counselling, and EnableMe recovery support for stroke survivors. This September, move your way and help create a future with fewer strokes.
