Sunset Series – Princes Park is a summer evening running event held at Princes Park in Carlton North, Melbourne, on Wednesday, 17 February 2027. It is the second race in a three-event series, following the opening race at The Zoo and preceding the final race at The Tan.
Participants can choose between a fast, flat 4-kilometre course or an 8-kilometre course, offering an accessible option for recreational runners as well as a longer challenge for those chasing a personal best. The course is designed for steady momentum through Princes Park, with the event’s evening setting adding to the atmosphere.
The event village opens at 5pm, followed by staggered starts for the 4-kilometre race from 6.30pm and the 8-kilometre race from 7pm. Presentations are scheduled for 7.15pm and 8pm respectively. The start line closes at 7.30pm, the finish line closes at 8.30pm and the event concludes at 9pm.
After the race, participants can relax in the park celebration area with live acoustic music featuring classic songs and contemporary hits. Entries are limited, with up to 2,000 places available for the Princes Park event.
Runners entering the full series receive a series singlet, three collectible finisher medals and entry to a selected distance at each of the three races, subject to the event’s entry conditions.
