Sydney’s Backyard Ultra is a demanding endurance running event that brings together ultra runners for a continuous test of pace, grit and strategy. Held at St Ives Showground in Saint Ives, it features a 6.706 km loop run on the hour, every hour, with the race continuing until only one runner remains.
This long-standing Sydney event is designed for runners who want to push well beyond the usual marathon distance, with the format rewarding consistency, recovery and mental toughness as much as raw speed.
