About this event
The Great Volcanic Mountain Challenge takes participants into the spectacular mountain landscapes of Gaanha Bula–Mount Canobolas near Orange in Central West New South Wales.
The main challenge is an 11km trail run or walk across three volcanic peaks, featuring approximately 520m of elevation gain before finishing at the 1,397m summit. The course combines demanding climbs with forested trails and scenic views across the surrounding countryside.
A family-friendly 5.5km trail option is also available, offering a shorter way to experience the mountain environment. Participants can choose between running and walking, making the event suitable for a range of fitness levels and outdoor experience.
The event will be held on Sunday, 21 March 2027, with the start and finish area at Pinnacle Picnic Grounds in the Mount Canobolas area near Orange.
