About this event
The Hardwood Full Moon XCM is an evening cross-country mountain bike marathon in John Forrest National Park, marking the first mountain bike event held in the park. Presented by Perth MTB Club, the event combines fast, flowing forest riding with the atmosphere of a race under the full moon.
Riders complete a 13.2-kilometre lap incorporating the Heritage and Noolbenger trails. Enter as a solo rider, or team up in a duo or trio, making the event suitable for riders with different levels of experience and fitness.
Racing begins at 5pm, with sunset expected at approximately 7.04pm. Competitors will therefore need suitable bike lights for the later stages of the event, as the course continues into the evening. The leading riders are expected to finish at around 9pm to 9.30pm.
The event also supports the continuation of cross-country Olympic racing in Western Australia, including the 2027 XCO season, junior development and local XCO competition.
