About this event
The Illumin8 Challenge is an exhilarating nighttime event held in Cooranbong, Lake Macquarie, NSW, on Saturday, August 29, 2026. Participants are invited to tackle up to eight 5.25 km walk or run loops, completing any number of laps from one (5.25 km) to eight (42 km).
Starting at 6:00 pm, a new lap begins every hour on the hour for eight hours, continuing until 2:00 am. This family-friendly event is free to enter, though participants are encouraged to fundraise individually or as a family.
The event aims to bring "light to the darkness" by raising vital funds for the Eyes for India charity, which provides the gift of sight to under-served communities in India. To enhance the experience, participants will enjoy glow sticks, fire pits for warmth, and live entertainment.
Children must be accompanied on the course by an adult.
