About this event
Total Recon 24 is an adventure race across South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula, with teams navigating between checkpoints using a map and compass while trekking, mountain biking and paddling through a varied coastal and inland landscape.
As an Adventure Racing World Series Oceania regional round, the event brings together teams of two or four for a demanding test of endurance, teamwork and navigation. The course is designed to showcase the region’s beaches, cliffs, native forests, waterways and remote wilderness.
- 24-hour full course: approximately 160 kilometres of trekking, paddling and mountain biking.
- Two-day stage race: a staged format covering approximately 120–140 kilometres across Saturday and Sunday.
- Six-hour short course: a condensed course featuring running, kayaking and mountain biking around Encounter Bay for teams of two.
Competitors must work together to locate and complete checkpoints, with the winning team being the first to cross the finish line having completed the required course. Watercraft is supplied for the paddling sections, and event logistics are supported.
Total Recon 24 will be held from Saturday 14 to Sunday 15 November 2026 in the Fleurieu Peninsula, with the event based around McCracken and the Victor Harbor area.
