About this event
Join riders from across Australia for the Tour de Brisbane on Sunday, 4 April 2027, and experience Brisbane by bike on fully closed city roads.
This major urban cycling event offers multiple ride and race options, catering to families, recreational cyclists, ambitious endurance riders and competitors chasing a fast finish. With routes of varying distances, participants can choose a challenge that suits their experience and goals, from enjoying a social ride with family and friends to tackling a demanding long-course effort.
The longer route showcases Brisbane’s major roads, expressways, bridges and riverfront corridors before testing riders with the ascent of Mount Coot-tha. The climb rises 146 metres over 2.2 kilometres, with sections reaching gradients of up to 12 per cent, making it a defining challenge for riders aiming to push their limits.
The event starts and finishes in Brisbane City and forms part of the Brisbane Cycling Festival. It also provides an opportunity for competitive riders to take part in a recognised qualifying event for the UCI Gran Fondo World Series.
By participating, riders help raise funds for The Common Good, an initiative of The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation supporting medical research and improved outcomes for people living with heart and lung conditions. Funded research includes work to improve organ transplantation, reduce transplant rejection, support heart-failure treatment and advance care for people affected by lung disease.
Whether you are seeking a family-friendly day out, a personal endurance challenge or the excitement of racing through Brisbane without normal traffic, the Tour de Brisbane offers a memorable way to experience the city on two wheels.
