Which running calendar are you looking for?

Running Calendar Australia at runningcalendar.com.au lists running events and other endurance and multisport events. Its site offers distance categories and event-following options. Run Calendar at runcalendar.com.au is a different website, presenting races by date, state and distance.

Both can help you shortlist a running event. Check the organiser’s current edition information before entering, especially the date, location and distance you intend to do. Similar event names do not necessarily describe the same edition.

Turn a race shortlist into a workable routine

On Running Calendar, use the event categories and following options to keep track of races that interest you. On Run Calendar, use the date, state and distance information to narrow the list. Neither shortlist needs to replace the other.

Next, check how an event fits around your normal week: travel, preparation and who you would like to go with. If you want local company between events, explore KeepActive’s ongoing group and coaching listings separately from the dated event search.

For organisers, maintain each calendar submission independently and use the correct current entry page. KeepActive provides an additional listing route; it does not automatically submit your event to either running calendar.

When KeepActive helps beyond race day

Explore KeepActive events when comparing sports and fitness events, and local activity listings when looking for company or coaching between races. A date on a race calendar and an ongoing weekly group answer different needs.

If you want to become more active but are unsure about racing, compare a social running group, walking group or another local activity. A welcoming routine that fits your week may matter more than choosing a race distance immediately.

Check the entry that actually suits you

Confirm the exact distance, terrain, cut-off rules, minimum age, walking eligibility, accessibility information and entry status with the organiser. Do not assume a festival’s marathon distance applies to every participant or that all distances allow children.

Follow the official entry destination to register. Finding an event in a calendar or directory does not secure a race place.

For race organisers: distribute without moving registration

You can promote the same eligible event through more than one discovery channel while retaining your entry system. Keep the event name, edition date, venue and offered distances consistent.

Use a dated event listing for the race, and a separate ongoing activity listing only if you also run a continuing group. Update all public listings after postponements or cancellations rather than relying on information spreading automatically.
