The Man Walk - Athenree is a welcoming weekly walking group that meets every Wednesday at 7:00 am at Waione Avenue Reserve in Athenree International. This group enjoys a scenic, gentle walk along the foreshore of Tauranga Harbour, starting from the children's playground on Waione Avenue.
The walk follows a mostly level, well-maintained path under large pohutukawa trees, offering beautiful views across the harbour toward the Bowentown peninsula. The route is approximately 2.2 km round trip and takes about 30 minutes to complete, making it suitable for all fitness levels.
Participants can enjoy the natural surroundings, including a short set of steps leading down to a peaceful beach at the northern tip of the track. Convenient parking is available near the playground, and public toilets are located just across the road.
This group provides an excellent opportunity for fitness, fresh air, and community connection in a relaxed and picturesque environment.
