DeakinACTIVE Waurn Ponds is located in the KD Stewart Building (DA building) over two levels. With a number of different multipurpose rooms and a squash court onsite, the gym is able to offer a variety of services under the one roof.
Sporting world famous Technogym equipment, these innovative machines offer the most complete range of cardio, strength and functional training equipment in the market today. Technology integrated machines that track your workout and let you watch your favourite sport or game right in front of you while you workout!
Enjoy the best experience by using your DeakinMOVES app to connect with all of the equipment in the gym. The Technogym equipment will automatically sync up with your personalised training program, display examples of the exercise on the equipment and technique required, and your workout results will be automatically tracked into your DeakinMOVES account.
**Group Fitness Classes**
Waurn Ponds offers a variety of online and group fitness classes – indoors and out! We have a great mix of traditional strength training and functional strength with a particular emphasis on getting the maximum amount of health, strength and wellness training out of group fit classes.
The variety of group fitness classes includes – Pilates, Yoga, HIIT, Core, Tabata, Boxing, MetaFIT, Spin, Skill X, and Meditation.
**Stadium**
Located within the DA building, there are 2 full sized basketball courts that are available to hire to play basketball, netball, volleyball, or badminton games. This space can also be outfitted to suit commercial or University needs such as functions or testing rooms.
**Freeplay Fridays**
Kick off your weekend with Free Play Friday at Waurn Ponds! Free Play Friday is your opportunity to have a casual friendly game of basketball, badminton, futsal, shoot a few casual hoops or simply come along as a spectator!
All students are welcome – it’s a great way to meet new friends, stay active and have fun in a safe and accessible environment.
Freeplay Fridays: 3-6pm every Friday afternoon.

Come and try our squash court out for some casual fun and fitness with your friends.
**Equipment Hire**
Don’t have the equipment needed to play? Don’t worry we have you covered with hire available for balls, badminton and squash equipment.
