About this event
The Jackie Fairweather Memorial Triathlon returns to Black Mountain Peninsula in Canberra on Sunday, 14 February 2027, as the ACT Sprint Triathlon Championships.
Held in memory of Jackie Fairweather, the event celebrates the legacy of a world champion triathlete, duathlete, Commonwealth Games marathon medallist and influential leader in Australian high-performance sport.
The program offers opportunities for competitors of all ages and experience levels, including Sprint, Super Sprint, Kids and Aquabike categories. The Sprint Triathlon is a non-draft-legal event covering a 750-metre swim, 20-kilometre cycle and 5-kilometre run.
The Sprint race is recognised as both an ACT State Championship and a National Qualifier. It also serves as a World Championships Qualification Event, giving eligible athletes the opportunity to qualify for the 2027 World Triathlon Championships in Hamburg, Germany.
Children can take part in the Kids event, featuring a 100-metre swim, 1.4-kilometre cycle and 1-kilometre run. The Sprint Aquabike category provides an alternative format for athletes who want to compete in the swim and cycle legs.
