2026-27 Swim Run — Race 1 is an aquathlon event held at Black Mountain Peninsula in Canberra on Sunday, 6 December 2026. The public event features lake swimming combined with running, with courses designed for experienced competitors, newcomers and children.
- Sprint distance: a 600-metre swim, 4-kilometre run and second 600-metre swim.
- Enticer distance: a 400-metre swim, 3-kilometre run and second 400-metre swim.
- Kids long course: a 180-metre swim followed by a 2-kilometre run.
- Kids short course: a 100-metre swim followed by a 500-metre run.
- Swim-only option: a 1.2-kilometre lake swim.
Competitors move between swimming and running through the event’s transition format, while the swim-only option provides an alternative for participants who prefer to focus on the water component. With multiple distances and dedicated kids’ courses, Race 1 offers an accessible introduction to multisport racing as well as a challenge for more experienced participants.
