Airlie Beach Race Week is one of Australia’s biggest yacht racing regattas, combining offshore competition with a lively onshore festival in the heart of the Whitsundays.
Held in Airlie Beach, Queensland, this seven-day event draws sailors from across Australia and overseas, with racing that ranges from competitive divisions to cruising classes. The regatta is hosted by the Whitsunday Sailing Club and is set against the spectacular backdrop of the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.
Alongside the racing, the Festival of Sailing brings seven days and nights of entertainment and social events, making it the Whitsunday Coast’s most significant public event. The atmosphere is relaxed but energetic, with live music, food and a strong holiday feel that suits the tropical setting.
