The Aussie Alpine Backyarder returns on Thursday, December 31, 2026, to the stunning High Country of Falls Creek, Victoria.
Celebrate New Year's Eve with this thrilling endurance challenge. Runners must complete a 6.71km loop every hour, on the hour, at high altitude—continuing until only one remains the last one standing.
This rugged course is widely regarded as Australia's toughest Backyard Ultra. It features true alpine conditions on breathtaking scenic trails, with approximately 210m of elevation gain per lap. A steady climb leads to the resort's summit, followed by a fast, flowing descent. The lap concludes on an inspiring trail around the event village, where runners can bask in the cheers and encouragement at the finish line.
