The Aussie Alpine Backyarder returns to the stunning High Country of Falls Creek, Victoria, on Thu, Dec 31, 2026.
Celebrate New Year’s Eve with this thrilling endurance challenge, where runners tackle a 6.71km loop every hour, on the hour, at high altitude—continuing until only one remains the last person standing.
Recognized as Australia’s toughest backyard ultra, the rugged alpine course features approximately 210m of elevation gain per lap. A steady climb leads to the resort’s peak, followed by a fast, flowing descent, and finishes on an inspiring trail looping the event village—ideal for soaking up cheers from spectators.
