The BMA River 2 Reef Ride Festival returns to West Mackay on Sunday, 15 August 2027, bringing cyclists together for one of the region’s biggest community riding events.
Riders can choose from three road-cycling distances: the 25km Dash, 60km Epic or 100km Gran Fondo. Whether you are new to organised rides, returning to the bike or looking for a longer challenge, the festival offers an opportunity to ride with friends, family and cycling crews while enjoying a shared community atmosphere.
The event supports Mackay community and sporting groups, helping raise funds for local organisations while encouraging more people to become active and involved in cycling. It is a chance to challenge yourself, connect with fellow riders and contribute to the community through participation.
The festival program also includes a children’s colour ride on the preceding day, offering younger riders a fun introduction to cycling and adding to the weekend’s family-friendly atmosphere. The main ride begins early on Sunday morning from the Mackay Botanic Gardens area.
