Box Hill Skatepark hosts a free afternoon of beginner skateboarding lessons on Wednesday 4 November 2026, with separate girlsā and mixed beginner sessions. Shredability runs the programme with support from the Suburban Rail Loop.
- Girlsā lesson: 4:30pmā5:30pm AEDT.
- Mixed beginner lesson: 5:40pmā6:40pm AEDT.
Each session lasts one hour. Most participants are children, but the lessons welcome adults as well. Children are normally over five; younger children can participate with a parent helping.
A limited number of boards and helmets can be borrowed. Participants are encouraged to bring their own if available. The coaches are trained by the Australian Skateboarding Federation and hold Working with Children Checks.
Entry is free and bookings are required for each participant. Tickets are booked one at a time. Use this eventās registration option for the mixed beginner lesson, or select the separate girlsā session from the organiserās event list. Complete the organiserās waiver before arrival and be at the skatepark ten minutes before the lesson starts.
