About this event

BRRC Ekiden Relay Marathon is a Brisbane Road Runners Club event held in Queensland on a fast, flat road course beside the Brisbane River. It is part of the club’s regular Sunday race program and offers a team relay format alongside individual running distances.

The event is described as a certified loop course with marked kilometre points, using a riverside route that starts and finishes at a sailing club in South Brisbane. Runners and spectators can make use of the clubhouse and the shaded riverside setting, which makes it a practical and social race-day location.

Distances associated with the event include shorter solo options as well as a full marathon-style relay, giving it broad appeal for runners of different abilities. The relay format is designed for teams, with the Ekiden option typically completed as multiple laps by a group of runners.

This is a road-running event suited to participants looking for an organised, scenic race with a strong club atmosphere. Its combination of lap-based racing, relay teamwork and Brisbane River views makes it a distinctive fixture on the local running calendar.
