About this event
Cut 2 Club Open Water Swim is a challenging ocean swim through the Dawesville Channel before heading into the open water and finishing at Pyramids Beach, in front of the Port Bouvard Surf Life Saving Club. The event is scheduled for Saturday, 16 January 2027, in Dawesville, Western Australia.
Swimmers can choose from three distances designed to suit different levels of experience and comfort in open-ocean conditions:
- 5km: follows the longer ocean course, including an additional swim leg south before returning north and continuing to the finish at Pyramids Beach.
- 3.5km: travels through the Dawesville Channel, around the southern groyne and into the ocean, passing the renowned Wedge surf break before turning towards the beach finish.
- 2.25km: provides a shorter alternative that finishes inside the Dawesville Channel, avoiding the open-ocean section and concluding near the fishing jetty by the surf club.
The 5km and 3.5km courses combine channel and ocean swimming, with waves, wind and currents potentially adding to the challenge. The shorter course is suited to swimmers seeking a more sheltered experience while still taking part in this distinctive Dawesville event.
