Celebrate Father's Day and Kyneton's first signs of spring at the Daffodil Dash, a community and volunteer-run event held as part of the Kyneton Daffodil and Arts Festival. The event starts and finishes in Kyneton Botanic Gardens, bringing runners, joggers, walkers, families and friends together for an active morning among the town's daffodils.
Choose Your Course
The Maple Physio 5km course takes in two laps of Kyneton Botanic Gardens and an out-and-back section along the Campaspe River Walk. It is mostly on wide gravel track, with some bitumen and concrete.
The Embracia 11km course continues farther along the Campaspe River and into Kyneton Racecourse. Its varied surface includes wide gravel track, bitumen, concrete, dirt track and short grass sections. It is more technical than the 5km course, but has no steep inclines.
Race Morning
- Race hub opens at 8:00am.
- 11km briefing is at 8:20am, followed by an 8:30am start.
- 5km briefing is at 8:50am, followed by a 9:00am start.
- Race presentations are expected at 10:00am.
Both events are professionally timed. The cutoff is 2 hours for the 5km course and 2.5 hours for the longer course.
Run, Walk or Bring the Family
Participants of different abilities are welcome to run, jog or walk. Children can take part, although those under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Prams are encouraged; participants using one on the longer course should take care through a short narrow section where a marshal will assist. Dogs are not permitted on the course, and headphones are discouraged so everyone can remain aware of other participants and course officials.
Entry and Event Facilities
Current late entry is A$35 for the 5km and A$45 for the 11km. Register at the official link before online registration closes. Race-day registration is also available, although entering early is recommended to guarantee a place and save time on the morning.
Bibs can be collected early on Friday 4 September from 12:00pm to 5:00pm, or at the event on Sunday morning. Water stations, toilets and qualified first aid personnel will be available. Free parking can be found in nearby residential streets, but there is no participant parking inside the Botanic Gardens.
