About this event
The Dubbo Stampede Running Festival returns on Sunday 6 September 2026, with a course set along the Macquarie River and a start and finish point at Ollie Robbins Oval in Dubbo. This inclusive community event offers six distances, ranging from the Meerkat Mile for children through to a full marathon, with options for walkers, wheelchair participants and runners of all levels.
Certified as a World Athletics measured course, the festival is designed to welcome everyone from first-timers to experienced marathon runners. The longer races take in sections through Taronga Western Plains Zoo, while the shorter events follow the river trails and showcase the region’s scenery.
Distances on offer include a 1 mile kids’ fun run, a 1 km inclusive walk/run, a 5 km event, a 10 km race, a half marathon and a full marathon. The event is also described as a genuine community festival with a strong focus on participation, activity and regional pride.
