The Duval Dam Buster Trail Run is a trail running event in the Armidale district, set in the Mt Duval and Dumaresq Dam areas of New South Wales. It is a challenging New England High Country run with distances to suit a wide range of runners, from a family-friendly 3km through to an ultramarathon distance.
The event is hosted by Armidale Athletics Club and is described as an AURA-listed trail run. The course takes in a mix of single track, fire trails and country dirt roads, with the longer distances climbing Mt Duval and showcasing the area’s high-country terrain.
Armidale is known as Australia’s highest city, and the event starts at around 1,000 metres above sea level. The longest race, the 50km Hendo Hustle, is the most demanding option and requires prior experience from a 28km event or relevant training within the previous 12 months.
Runners can expect a scenic but tough outing through forested and elevated country near Armidale, with course options designed for families, recreational trail runners and experienced endurance athletes alike.
