About this event
The GNW Trail Running Festival is a trail running event held on Sunday 20 September 2026 in New South Wales, with race options designed for a range of abilities and distances. The course is part of the Great North Walk area and features challenging trail terrain, making it a strong choice for runners looking for a scenic but demanding endurance event.
In 2026, the festival offers three distances: a 10K race of 9.6km with 329m of ascent, a 30K race of 29.2km with 770m of ascent, and a 50K race of 50.3km with 1,485m of ascent. Each distance has a set cut-off time, and the longer 30K and 50K events are listed as qualifiers for the Six Foot Track event.
Entries open in stages leading up to race day, with earlybird, standard, late and super late registration periods, and all entries closing just before the event. This is a well-organised trail festival suited to runners who enjoy hilly courses, long climbs and a timed race format in a natural bush setting.
