About this event
The GV Last Man Standing Ultra is a backyard ultra endurance event in Kialla, Victoria, built around a simple but punishing format: runners complete a 6.7-kilometre loop every hour and must be back in time to start the next lap. The race continues until only one runner remains, making it a true test of stamina, pacing and mental toughness.
This event is known as Northern Victoria’s original backyard ultra and is designed for runners of different abilities who are willing to take on a long-distance challenge. The course is based around a scenic loop that includes local parkland and lake views, creating a fast but demanding route repeated hour after hour.
There is no second place in this format: competitors either keep going or drop out when they can no longer complete a lap within the hour. That makes the event as much about strategy and resilience as raw speed, with the final winner being the last person able to complete an extra solo lap.
