Explore Lysterfield Park with fellow mountain bikers at the LDTR October Social Ride on Sunday 18 October 2026. This social outing on the club's home trails covers approximately 20–30 km, with a chance to meet other riders and discover more of the park's trail network.
A morning on the Lysterfield trails
Arrive at the Horswood Road trailhead map at 8:45 am, ready for a 9:00 am roll out. The ride follows blue trails, with black trails available for those who are comfortable taking them on. An intermediate level of fitness and mountain biking skill is required.
This is a no-drop ride, so riders will not be left behind. If you need to leave early for other commitments, a ride leader can guide you out safely. Afterwards, riders are invited to join the group for coffee, snacks and a chat at The Orchard @ Montagues.
Who can join and what to bring
The ride is open to adults aged 18 and over. Younger riders may join when accompanied by a parent or guardian, provided they have the intermediate fitness and skills needed for the ride.
- A mountain bike in good working order
- An Australian safety standards approved helmet
- Water, snacks and a spare tube
- Freshly applied sunscreen
Free entry with registration
There is no charge to join, but every rider must register through the official booking page. All riders must hold AusCycling insurance; a free four-week trial is available. Check that you have the required cover before attending.
The ride is subject to the weather forecast and may be cancelled if conditions are unsuitable. The organiser will advise participants of any cancellation by email and through its social channels.
