About this event
Light Horse Ultra is a timed endurance running event held in Western Australia as part of the Ultra Series WA. It features multiple race durations on a short loop course, making it suitable for runners aiming for a fast effort, a long-distance challenge, or a full day-and-night ultra experience.
The course is a 2.5 kilometre circuit made up of limestone, boardwalk and asphalt, with events typically run over one or two days. Distances commonly include 3, 6, 12 and 24 hours, and a shorter kids’ race is also offered.
The event is presented as a memorial-style community gathering as well as a race, with an annual dawn service held before the start. It honours Australia’s service men and women, and past and present service personnel are offered discounted or free entry as a gesture of thanks.
With its loop format, staged start times and strong community atmosphere, Light Horse Ultra brings together experienced ultra runners, first-time entrants and local supporters for a unique endurance event in Western Australia.
