About this event

Race 1 of the Launceston Mountain Bike Club’s 2026–27 Twilight Cross Country Series takes place at Kate Reed Nature Recreation Area on Wednesday, 21 October 2026.

Set among the reserve’s network of purpose-built mountain bike trails, the event combines short climbs, descents and narrow, twisty tracks in a compact natural setting near Launceston. Kate Reed offers riding opportunities for a range of abilities, including approximately 6 kilometres of mountain-bike-preferred trail suited to newer riders and participants with varying fitness levels.

The twilight format provides an evening racing experience in a popular northern Tasmanian riding area. Participants and spectators should allow extra care around shared-use trails, as the reserve is also used by walkers and other recreational riders. Parking near the reserve entrances is limited.
