The Mad Max Marathon Festival returns to Broken Hill, NSW, on Sunday, 26 July 2026, offering a unique chance to experience the rugged beauty of outback Australia and the historic charm of Broken Hill.
Participants can choose from five race distances: Marathon, Half Marathon, 10 km, 5 km, and a Kids' 2 km event. All races start and finish at the Broken Hill Racecourse, featuring the spacious Gary Radford Pavilion and convenient nearby camping facilities for those seeking an authentic outback adventure.
This event welcomes runners and walkers of all ages and abilities—from elite marathoners to casual joggers—on an exceptionally flat and fast course set against the stunning desert landscape.
